Getting Started in RCIA at STM

This page contains information about how to get started with the process of becoming Catholic, returning to the Catholic Church, or just learning about the Catholic faith.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, otherwise abbreviated as RCIA, is a process designed for adults. The Church officially recognizes as "adults" anyone who has reached the "age of reason," usually about age 7. A detailed explanation of how the process works is best left for another place and/or time. Here we want to provide you with enough information to get started in the RCIA at St. Thomas More parish in Houston, Texas.

The best way to get started is to attend our "inquiry" meeting on Wednesday evenings. This is something like an "open house." We'll get to meet you and you meet us. We can take everything from there. We meet EVERY Wednesday unless there is severe weather, a holiday, or something unpredictable comes up at the last moment (this is rare).

If Wednesday evenings are not a good time for you, please get in touch and we can arrange something. You can "get in touch" by going to the "Contact Us" link at this web site or by phoning the parish at 713-729-0221.

The next step would be to fill out our registration form that can be found at the "Register" link.

We look forward to seeing you or otherwise hearing from you. There is no obligation and no pressure.
